Packaging Concepts, Inc.

The project replaced two existing Packaging Concepts facilities – the main office and plant at 4971 Fyler and another building at Jefferson Avenue and Interstate 44, both in the city of St. Louis.

Clayco completed design-build work on a $5.8 million, 131,000-square-foot manufacturing, distribution and office facility for Packaging Concepts, Inc. Completed in just seven months, the new Packaging Concepts, Inc. facility in south St. Louis County is used to design, print, and distribute popcorn bags.

Located at Greenpark Commerce Center, near Interstate 55 and Lindbergh Boulevard, the single-story design-build facility with a mezzanine was constructed with tilt-up concrete panels and a structural steel frame. The Sansone Group served as developer for the property and acted as the project facilitator for the owners.

The project replaced two existing Packaging Concepts facilities – the main office and plant at 4971 Fyler and another building at Jefferson Avenue and Interstate 44, both in the city of St. Louis. The turnkey design-build project provided Packaging Concepts with a contemporary building and state-of-the-art operations that offer opportunities for increased production and ease of distribution.

Packaging Concepts, Inc., founded in 1972, specializes in eight-color process flexographic printing, laminating and bag making. Its niche markets are microwave popcorn bags, leak-proof movie theatre popcorn bags, and custom-printed roll stock for form and fill packaging machines. The company’s growth is in part attributed to investing in state-of-the-art equipment and technology that is faster and more flexible than its competitors. The new facility offers customers an environmentally sound, highly efficient manufacturing plan with the latest quality control capabilities and an empowered, team-oriented workforce.
