Clayco completed the development and construction of a 600,000-square-foot distribution facility in Brookville, Ohio, for Collective Brands, Inc. (Payless ShoeSource). Clayco later completed construction of a 200,000-square-foot expansion while the original facility was occupied and fully operational. Additionally, Clayco successfully coordinated the installations of $54 million worth of the facility’s equipment systems, which were put in place at tough deadline points in the schedule.
Designed to enhance the overall supply chain operation, the facility serves 2,900 stores located east of the Rocky Mountains and has brought approximately 300 new jobs to the Brookville community. A sloped curtainwall system and metal panel siding provide interesting accents to the tilt-up concrete facility. Interior features include 32-foot clear heights, 20,560 square feet of office space, an employee break room, and approximately five mile of conveyors.
