Clayco is currently constructing a $17-million expansion of a soy sauce production facility for San-J International.
The expansion will more than double the size of its Virginia plant. San-J International, makes Tamari soy sauce and other Asian cooking sauces. San-J International’s Japanese location was originally founded in 1804.
The expansion is about 60,000-square-foot, the facility is located in Richmond, Virginia and it will be in operation in 2017. Included in the overall space is 44,000-square-foot expansion of the existing 57,000-square-foot structure, plus another 15,000-square-foot raw materials processing building that will be added to the 7.9-acre site.
The current facility supports 55 employees, and another 18 new jobs were announced as part of the expansion.
