This development will feature office space, an early childhood development center, and a training center, as well as walking trails and water features. The design will preserve and take advantage of the campus environment by providing open spaces and natural light and embracing the site’s natural features.
The office design aims to pave the way for the next generation of the corporate offices focused on top-tier recruiting, retention and agile operations. The exterior prioritizes open views to create a sense of “working in a treehouse” with vertical facade elements that mimic a tree’s trunk and branches. The awe-inspiring lobby acts as the building’s central collaboration space.
Clayco will be responsible for construction and sitework and Rafco Properties is managing the overall development as project manager. Architecture, interiors, and planning firm LS3P is the architect and interior designer; LandDesign is the site planner; and Uzun+Case is the structural engineer. Syska Hennessy Group will be providing the mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering.
Clayco has partnered with the Block Love Charlotte team for outreach events through the year including providing warm meals, clothing, and coats to the individuals experiencing hardship in the community. Deborah Woolard and the Calvin Alexander Family have been instrumental in integrating the Clayco team into this form of community engagement.
Our jobsite has hosted several CCDI students and Clayco summer interns this past year. Ranging from high school to college, these future construction professionals receive hands-on experience and an opportunity even at entry level to influence the process which impacts the results we deliver.
Our Clayco intern and project engineer group got together to tour SteelFab, Inc’s top-of-the-line fabrication facility. It was a great way for these young professionals to see how all the pieces come together from start to finish. Thank you to SteelFab for hosting us and offering this cool learning opportunity.
