Private attorney offices, private conference rooms and board rooms were placed on the outside perimeter of the space maximizing natural daylight.

Clayco completed a build-out for Thompson Coburn’s 37th floor law office in downtown Chicago, Illinois. Design and construction of this expansive 44,000-square-foot floor plate allowed Thompson Coburn to place private attorney offices, private conference rooms and their board room on the outside perimeter of the space maximizing natural daylight and embrace the stunning views to the East over Millennium Park and Lake Michigan. The project consisted of complete demolition of the prior tenant space as well as modifications and changes to the mechanical and electrical systems.

Completed in just over 5 months from start to finish, this new space allowed Thompson Coburn to move in ahead of schedule, which allowed the building owner to start conversion of their vacated space on the 40th floor on time. With some initial value engineering and a team approach, the project was delivered at a cost of $4.6 million and still delivered high-end finishes you would expect from a well-established and successful firm as Thompson Coburn. Working closely together with Clayco, Powell-Kleinschmidt and the rest of the design team, Thompson Coburn created an environment their employees love to work in and their clients feel welcomed to visit.
