Washington University Central Underground Garage

Landscaping and outdoor patios were also constructed directly on the roof of the garage to camouflage its unadorned exterior.

Design-build of a three-story, 520-car cast-in-place underground garage at Washington University Danforth University Center. The university has limited parking and therefore the two lower levels of the garage were open to the public while construction was going on above. Since the Underground Garage and its lid were essentially rectangle and the University Center incorporated an array of wings, landscape and outdoor amenities, the two facilities took great measure to ensure an appealing and functional interface. Thus, landscaping and outdoor patios were also constructed directly on the roof of the garage to camouflage its unadorned exterior.
