Clayco Survey Finds Americans Are Open to Data Centers — With Benefits

A new national survey commissioned by leading data center design-build firm Clayco found that most Americans are open to having data centers built in their communities, especially when the projects bring jobs, investment, and tax relief.

Support for data centers was strong even though more than half of survey respondents didn’t realize data centers power everyday essentials like online banking, shopping, streaming, and AI.

Methodology: Clayco commissioned Atomik Research to conduct an online survey of 1,005 adults throughout the United States. The sample is representative of the U.S. population with respect to demographic characteristics such as gender, age group, race, ethnicity and geographical region. The margin of error is +/- 3 percentage points with a confidence level of 95 percent. Fieldwork took place between June 19 and June 23, 2025.
