Tom Carnahan is a Principal at Oakland Capital Partners, where he oversees investments in energy development and the energy transition. He advises portfolio companies advancing solar, wind, battery storage, and next-generation small nuclear technologies.
Earlier in his career, Tom served as an attorney representing the City of St. Louis, Missouri, before founding his own law practice focused on urban redevelopment and business counseling. He later founded Wind Capital Group, becoming a leading developer, owner, and operator of utility-scale wind farms across the U.S. Midwest. In 2021, he was appointed by the President to serve as the United States Representative to the 76th United Nations General Assembly.
Tom holds a B.A. in International Relations from William Jewell College and a J.D. from the University of Missouri-Columbia. He is a Commissioner of the St. Louis Art Museum and a Member of The Explorers Club.
