The project includes a high-performance workplace for over 1,000 employees, street-level retail, employee amenities and parking.

Richmond-based Hourigan Construction teamed with Clayco to provide design-build services for Dominion Energy’s new office tower in downtown Richmond.

The 20-story project is approximately 1 million square feet and occupies a full city block. It includes a high-performance workplace for over 1,000 employees, street-level retail, employee amenities and parking. The building is certified LEED Gold and integrates a range of sustainability strategies including a high-performance exterior enclosure, energy efficient mechanical/electrical systems, and an exterior landscaped terrace which captures and utilizes rainwater. The project is designed to promote new ways of working and to enhance productivity and efficiencies that will redound to the benefit of Dominion employees and customers.

The design-build team includes Kendall/Heaton Associates of Houston, Architect of Record; Pickard Chilton of New Haven, Connecticut, Design Architect, PDR Corp., of Houston, Interior Architect; Timmons Group of Richmond, Civil Engineer; Alvine Engineering of Omaha, Mechanical/Electrical Engineer; and Magnusson Klemencic of Seattle, Structural Engineer.

From my perspective as a Design Architect, Clayco has clearly embraced and been enthusiastic advocates for design quality.
