Clayco completed design-build of a new 100,000-square-foot regional headquarters for Liberty Mutual in Prairie Stone Business Park in suburban Chicago, Illinois. Able to accommodate up to 500 people, the new building allowed Liberty Mutual to consolidate three offices into one central location. The precast concrete building features custom detailing, a two-story lobby with wood panels and a radius curtainwall at the main entry.
The LEED rating system has given Liberty Mutual a tool for successfully integrating a corporate policy of developing a built environment that is beneficial to employees’ health, happiness and productivity. Private offices once delegated to the corner and window seats have been moved to the interior of the core to give more open views to the exterior for the majority of employees. A priority set on providing the best IAQ work environment included increased “fresh-air” ventilation through the building ventilation system. The facility practices environmentally conscious storm water management practices.
