Clayco completed a 238,000-square-foot Caribbean and Latin American Headquarters Facility for Lucent Technologies in Miramar, Florida. The facility consolidates 1,200 people in southern Florida who were previously scattered across 13 locations in Dade and Broward counties.

Located on a 20-acre site at Miramar Parkway and Interstate 75, the four-story, V-shape building consists of two wings, blending Lucent’s desire for a high-tech look with a “Mediterranean” flair. The exterior features silver reflective glass framed by light gray tilt-up concrete panels. Window systems incorporate mullions, which match architectural reveals in the wall panels, to emphasize the horizontal look of the building.

Extensive tropical landscaping and a trellis-shaded outdoor dining area by a reflecting pool complement the facility, which includes a full-service cafeteria and a fitness center. The two-story atrium lobby mixes dark granite with stainless steel and light-colored wood appointments. There is approximately 2,500 square feet of lab space for product development.
