The theme of baseball from another era is evident in every element of the facility, from the right field ‘Big Dog Wall’ scoreboard to the old style light towers, used brick construction and old-time signage.

Clayco was selected early in the planning process to construct T.R. Hughes Ballpark in the Ozzie Smith Sports Complex for the River City Rascals minor league baseball franchise.

The theme of baseball from another era is evident in every element of the facility, from the right field ‘Big Dog Wall’ scoreboard to the old style light towers, used brick construction and old-time signage. Wrought iron entry and exit gates and banners depicting baseball hall-of-famers convey a nostalgic era.

With 2,500 seats and 1,000 lawn seats, the ballpark was designed to appeal to fans of all ages. In the right field stands, fans can experience a Budweiser beer garden and several open-air suites, including one with a hot tub. In the left field stands, families can frolic on playground equipment or test their skills in a batting cage or with a machine that measures the speed of pitches.

The facility is the cornerstone of the Frontier League, entertaining sell-out crowds and shattering the league attendance record in its first year of operation.
