Leveraging the significant site topography a multi-story concourse extends the length of the podium linking multiple levels and identifying separate points of entry for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care.

Clayco’s Lamar Johnson Collaborative was hired to design a new urban hospital which leverages site topography to create distinct points of entry at multiple levels and highlights distinct program identities.

A new 350-bed, urban medical center integrates advanced technologies and creates multiple centers of excellence within a single facility.  The million-square-foot Altunizade Hospital is located on a 3.7 acre site in a dense urban community and combines both inpatient and outpatient services into a single facility.  A separate clinic tower and inpatient tower is linked by a common podium base of public amenities and diagnostic & treatment services. Leveraging the significant site topography a multi-story concourse extends the length of the podium linking multiple levels and identifying separate points of entry for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency care.

Key features of the facility’s state-of-the-art technology includes Gamma Knife ICON technology, Robotic Angiography, and a Triple-Unit Hybrid Operating Room System – the first of its kind in the world, combining three different advanced diagnostic methodologies. Specialty programs are organized as centers of excellence and include the most advanced Oncology Center in Turkey, as well as Brain Surgery Center, Cell Therapy Center, and Robotic Surgery Center. The unique architecture of this new civic icon sets a new standard for the Acibadem brand and new standard in environmental stewardship as being among the largest completed hospitals in Turkey targeting LEED Gold certification.
