Clayco completed a 487,900-square-foot manufacturing and distribution plant in Columbia, South Carolina, for tenant Amcor-Schmalbach, a maker of plastic containers. The state-of-the art facility, which has the capacity to produce more than one billion plastic containers annually, features a 472,900-square-foot manufacturing/distribution zone with 28-foot clear heights and 15,000 square feet of office space. Clayco’s turnkey services included extending rail lines to the architectural tilt-up concrete building and constructing a 30,000-ampere, high-voltage substation to harness the electrical power serving the building.
