Building H Innovation Park

1 2 3 / 3

The single level building will have a 16’ clear height and include 75 parking spaces around its perimeter.

As part of the 118-acre Innovation Park at Penn State University, Clayco fast-tracked the new 30,190-square-foot facility for GLP Development. The project required a flexible footprint with tall ceilings and an adaptable floor plan available for multiple tenants and suitable for light manufacturing/assembly, research, wet lab, or office space. Working in a design-build relationship with Lamar Johnson Collaborative, the team introduced a tilt-up structural system comprised of steel and concrete that was cohesive with the architectural context within Innovation Park. This solution not only saved approximately 20% of the overall construction cost, but it also was approximately 3 months faster in construction than a traditional structural steel and exterior masonry solution would have yielded. The project also includes significant utility upgrades and exterior improvements to site parking and landscaping at the park.
