Clayco and Lamar Johnson Collaborative provided design-build services for Caterpillar’s frame fabrication shop located in Victoria, Texas. The facility will fabricate machine base frames for Caterpillar’s Hydraulic Excavators.

At 200,000 square feet, the single-story fabrication shop houses two massive robotic machines supported by 5-foot thick concrete foundations. Robotic welders throughout the space complete the fabrication process. Material is transported by 35 7.5-ton bridge cranes. Plant cooling is provided by a central chilled water system. Building and process electrical is provided by a 13.8 kV substation.
