Rivian EV Manufacturing Plant
With deep commitments to sustainability, Clayco and Rivian, are setting out to create a plant that will grow the adoption of electric vehicles.
Clayco will build Rivian’s 1800-acre, state-of-the-art manufacturing plant at Stanton Springs, Georgia.
The eco-conscious facility is slated to be operational by 2026 and is expected to create approximately 7,500 employment opportunities, demonstrating Rivian’s commitment to both the local and national economies.
Clayco understands that successful projects are not just about bricks and mortar but about fostering strong partnerships. Rivian’s innovative approach to the automotive industry aligns perfectly with Clayco’s ethos of embracing groundbreaking ideas and solutions. We envision this endeavor as the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial partnership where our collective strengths will drive success.
Clayco was built for this moment, this challenge, and this project. Where the stakes are high, and the meaning and the purpose run deep. Rivian exists to keep the world adventurous – Forever. Achieving Forever requires leading change, overcoming adversity, and leveraging innovation and collaboration to accomplish the once unthinkable. Reflecting on this moment requires us to acknowledge we are a part of something much larger than a project, and much larger than a building.
In addition to Clayco, Rivian will be supported by Jacobs as the engineer of record and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) as the design architect.
This comprehensive facility encompasses various specialized areas such as stamping, body shop, paint shop, WWTP (Wastewater Treatment Plant), general assembly building, battery and drive unit shop, central utility plant, office and main entry building, and miscellaneous support facilities.
Rivian, an innovative leader in the American EV industry, demonstrates a dedicated focus on advancing sustainable transportation, not only through its vehicles but also in the construction and operations of the plant. This commitment aligns with Rivian and Clayco’s shared vision of a greener future. Moreover, the Rivian plant is expected to have a significant economic impact by creating approximately 7,500 employment opportunities, reinforcing Rivian’s commitment to both local and national economies. Scheduled to commence vehicle production in 2026, this groundbreaking venture benefits from key collaborators, Jacobs as the engineer of record and Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) as the design architect, forming a powerhouse of capabilities for the project’s success. Additionally, Clayco and LJC are delivering the Paint Shop and Civil scopes of work under a Design-Build deliver model.
