The project consisted of the conversion of an existing 900,000-square-foot shell facility into a highly automated, fulfillment center.

When Kohl’s supply chain strategy led to a northern, midwest e-commerce requirement, they called on Clayco to provide design-build services and lead this new effort. The project consisted of the conversion of an existing 900,000-square-foot shell facility into a highly automated, fulfillment center. The material handling equipment and supply chain group integration included substantial electric and low voltage infrastructure, climate controlled HVAC systems, and extensive office and branding build out. Despite the extremely aggressive schedule which included several early and interim milestones, Clayco delivered this new facility on time and under Guaranteed Maximum Price.
