Clayco successfully completed a $4 million design-build project for National Steel, focusing on the precise setting and alignment of equipment for a new continuous caster. This advanced machinery is integral to the production of carbon steel plates, streamlining the manufacturing process by directly solidifying molten steel into semi-finished slabs.
The implementation of continuous casting technology marked a significant modernization of the facility, enhancing product quality, reducing waste, and improving overall production efficiency. Located in Granite City, the National Steel facility has a rich history dating back to its origins as part of the National Enameling and Stamping Company.
