Clayco provided construction services on a new office and manufacturing facility for Patriot Machine, Inc. in St. Charles, Missouri, more than tripling the size of the company’s current space.
Lamar Johnson Collaborative, Clayco’s engineering and architectural design collaborative, was the architect and interior designer on the 80,000-square-foot project located near Interstate 370 and Highway 94. Patriot Machine, an engineering and manufacturing firm, specializes in complex and unique parts for the aerospace industry. Patriot moved into its state-of-the-art, high-tech manufacturing facility seven months after breaking ground.
Patriot’s new facility includes 10,000 square feet of office space and 60,000 square feet of manufacturing space. Constructed using architectural cast-in-place concrete, the design features 24-foot ceilings in the manufacturing area and a 10,000-square-foot, second-level mezzanine area for future expansion.
The building’s design evokes the high-tech nature of Patriot’s work. For example, there is an exterior section that imitates a contoured, machined part through a curved facade on one side and a flat facade on the other. The exterior also makes use of Patriot’s company colors with blue textured metal and red accents. Parking is available for over 100 cars.
