Clayco completed construction on this major distribution center for Pearson Education, the world’s largest education company and the global leader in online learning.

Developed by Rockefeller Group Development Corp. (RGDC), the nearly 890,000-square-foot facility is located in Rockefeller Group Foreign Trade Zone/8A at Exit 8A of the New Jersey Turnpike in Cranbury, New Jersey.

M+H Architects designed the massive facility, which includes 58,000 square feet of office space, 465,000 square feet of high-bay, narrow-aisle rack storage space, and approximately 365,000 square feet of air-conditioned process/shipping space. The building was constructed of insulated tilt-up concrete panels over a conventional steel column and joist framing system. The distribution area features 38-foot clear-height ceilings, 7-inch and 9-inch-thick floors, automated retrieval systems and advanced conveyor systems.

Pearson Education’s distribution center is the first building in the 150-acre Rockefeller Group FTZ/8A. When built out, the park will accommodate two million square feet of warehouse/distribution space. Less than 35 miles from New York City, Rockefeller Group FTZ/8A is one of the last large industrial sites available for build-to-suit opportunities in the New Jersey Turnpike Exit 8A market. Amenities of the park include in-place infrastructure and utilities and easy access to airports, deepwater ports and an extensive highway network.
