Performance Food Group (PFG) Cold Storage Facility

The development is a strategic growth move for PFG, replacing an existing facility in downtown St. Louis.

The Performance Food Group, Inc. (PFG) project is a new 353,000-square-foot facility in the NorthPark Development in Berkeley, Missouri. The facility increases the size of the operating company’s distribution warehouse and includes a cutting-edge meat processing and packaging area alongside a dedicated space for vehicle maintenance.

Developed by Scannell Properties, the collaborative project was built by Clayco with LJC providing architectural services and structural engineering and Concrete Strategies performing the tilt-up walls and foundations. The facility reached completion in the Summer of 2025.

Safety First

The Berkeley Fire Department held three hands-on presentations for our team. Station 1 was a controlled propane fire where workers were able to practice the P.A.S.S. technique to extinguish the flames. At Station 2, workers were educated about how to properly administer CPR and physically practice chest compressions. At Station 3, workers were shown a first aid video and information on how to “stop the bleed” in a situation where a worker suffers a cut. Workers were encouraged to ask questions to the fire department and EMTs.
