The building houses Arcadia Cold, which specializes in providing third-party handling, storage, distribution, and value-added services to the food industry. This 300,000-square-foot, high-performance logistics facility was designed to maximize operational efficiency while minimizing energy consumption.

The facility contains approximately 40,000 pallet positions across four convertible temperature-controlled chambers capable of operating from -20°F to 35°F. Its flexible design allows operators to adapt storage configurations as business needs evolve without sacrificing energy performance or product quality.

A high-performance insulated building envelope, variable frequency drive (VFD) refrigeration systems, advanced digital controls, high-speed insulated doors, and a glycol-based floor warming system work together to reduce heat gain, optimize refrigeration demand, and improve overall energy efficiency.

This Joliet facility, along with the company’s location in Crown Point, Indiana, will work together to provide enhanced services for regional production facilities and fast-moving consumer packaged goods programs, ensuring customers have access to high-quality cold storage options across the region.
