The renovation of the existing St. Louis Centre transformed the abandoned mall into a parking garage and retail space in beautiful downtown St. Louis.

Clayco completed design-build renovation of the existing St. Louis Centre, transforming the abandoned mall into a parking garage and retail space in beautiful downtown St. Louis, Missouri. The 477,000-square-foot parking garage construction project includes a fully enclosed and tempered garage, 750 parking spaces, and 85,000 square feet of retail space at the ground level.

Occupying a full city block in the city center, 600 Washington is the new eastern anchor of the burgeoning downtown commercial and residential neighborhood. The urban-focused design reorients the 25-floor, Class-A corporate tower to Washington Avenue with an expanded entry and lobby gallery. The base also includes double-height, street-front retail and open-air public plazas. The exterior façades were completely redesigned with combinations of colored and fritted glass, metal panels, and stone. Triple-story, vertical gardens and sculpture walks are incorporated to enhance the outdoor plazas. Using sustainable design principles, the building strategy includes retaining eighty percent of the existing structure. The lobby finishes include Calacatta Oro and Amora blue marble, wood, and terrazzo.
