Skye on 6th
Skye on 6th is the newest residential tower in the heart of Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District.
—
Skye on 6th, in downtown Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District, contains 309 apartments, 6,500 square feet of ground-level retail space, and a 78,000-square-foot parking garage with 201 spaces. Its wellness-focused design also includes a fitness center with a sauna, steam room with outdoor pool and spa, as well as a dedicated coworking floor.
Designed for LEED Silver certification, the 357,850-square-foot building’s exterior cladding comprises floor-to-floor window walls and fly-by EIFS panels. Building information modeling (BIM) was used to coordinate all site utility, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems around the post-tension and reinforced concrete structure.
Beyond These Walls
The Big Dig for Kids
Clayco was excited to be a sponsor of The Big Dig for Kids in Phoenix, Arizona in 2021. The Big Dig for Kids is a one-of-a-kind fundraising event that gives Phoenix-area youth, including those with cancer, the opportunity to explore, interact with and operate heavy machinery, including excavators, scissor lifts and more (supervised and safely, of course).
CCDI Phoenix
Clayco was excited to partner with our Skye on 6th project team and Hubbard Street Group to bring the CCDI program to Phoenix. The CCDI team kicked off their first monthly session this past week in partnership with the engineering department at BioScience High School located directed across the street from the job site. Each month 25 juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to tour the project and learn about engineering pathways in the construction industry, as well as apply for future internships and college scholarships!
Our Biggest Fan
In May 2022, our Skye on 6th team received an odd and fun request. Our Clayco crane had a #1 fan and this fan’s girlfriend asked if we could hang a banner from the crane as a birthday surprise. Clayco was happy to show our appreciation!
Art & Science of Building
Our Phoenix team visited the Turrel Skyspace in Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA). At Clayco, it is important for our team to embrace creativity because it has always been our culture to do more than build. We create and innovate to find the Art & Science of Building.
