U.S. Cellular wanted to up-grade their Chicago regional Data Center to modernize hardware and increase data capacity for a growing demand from expanded call centers nationwide. Because of the nature of the facility and investment levels, U.S. Cellular engineering team decided to optimize it’s operations and integrate the NOC team in the vacant portion of the 36,000 Tier III, Facility in Schaumburg, Illinois. Modifications to the building shell, parking site, and office portions were made to provide 24/7 occupied environments and support spaces for a growing team.
