Village Spires Condominiums

To ensure the buildings withstand powerful winds, high-quality guardrails are in place on balconies and the sliding glass doors exceed Florida’s requirements for impact resistance.

Clayco completed renovations on the 162,000-square-foot Village Spires Condominiums in Vero Beach, Florida. Located on the Florida coast, the twin buildings were damaged by two hurricanes in 2004, and storms continued to hit the area in 2005 even as construction began.

Two identical towers, standing 13 stories high, feature 104 condominiums that include two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and dining area. To ensure the buildings withstand powerful winds, high-quality guardrails are in place on balconies and the sliding glass doors exceed Florida’s requirements for impact resistance.

Clayco and Concrete Strategies removed the structural slab parking deck and replaced it with a 16,000-square-foot elevated post-tensioned design with decorative handrails to compliment the buildings. Additional upgrades to this structure help protect the complex from future hurricane-force winds.
