Clayco completed a new distribution center for Amazon on 84 acres of land in Monee, Illinois. While the footprint of the building is 856,605 square feet, with mezzanines throughout, the total building is 2,327,931 square feet under roof. This includes a total combined warehouse and main office areas of over 62,000 square feet.

The structure is made up of precast wall panels, structural steel and has both an EPDM and PTO mechanically attached single ply roof system. The truck docks and dolly pads are concrete pavement, while the remainder of the site is asphalt pavement. In total, there are 68 dock door positions and 2 drive-in doors. HVAC, electrical and plumbing are hard bid, while fire protection is design assist.

Project scope also included improving over a mile of city and county roadway along with the addition of traffic signalization to two intersections.

Clayco has built other facilities for this client in Indiana, Virginia, New Jersey, Kansas, Wisconsin, Tennessee, Baltimore, Ohio and is concurrently building additional facilities in both California and Oklahoma.
